Glycolic acid peels have become very popular today. Glycolic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance (alpha hydroxyl acid) found in sugar cane, softens and loosens the dry, dead cells that form a barrier layer on the surface of the skin.

During the glycolic peel process, the skin sheds these dead cells, and a new layer of cells is revealed resulting in a smoother, moister, and fresher skin surface.
